  • There is no objective way to answer this and anyone who claims otherwise is not being honest with you. I tend to be very goal-oriented and want to collaborate with you on the right goals to work on during our time together. Broadly, our initial focus will likely be to achieve some immediate relief from the symptoms you’re experiencing in just the first few sessions. From there, depending on where you’d like to focus, we can work to discover the underlying issues and patterns that may be driving your discomfort and add some tools that will help you on an on-going basis in life.

My ideal end goal is to “work myself out of a job” with you - where you’re feeling better, have gained tools to deal with what brought you to the office, and you feel confident to terminate our work. That said, many clients prefer to maintain monthly/quarterly appointments on-going for maintenance purposes. Simply a matter of preference and is up to you as the client.

  • Prior to First Session: you’ll complete the necessary paperwork via my SimplePractice client portal. Once you schedule an appointment, this link will be emailed to you and is quite simple/straightforward to complete.

First Session: there is no need to prepare or bring anything, just show up with an open mind and any questions/concerns that remain for you. Our first session will simply be us getting to know each other. I’ll look to gain a better understanding on what brought you in and what you’re hoping to get out of our time together. We’ll also discuss what therapy might look like moving forward, including how often you’d like to meet as we balance both your treatment goals and any potential financial constraints.

  • Typical sessions last between 50-55 minutes. Longer sessions are available upon client request and are billed on a pro-rated basis. Please reach out if this is something you are interested in discussing.

  • The short answer is yes, virtual appointments are available throughout the state of Ohio. That said, if you are in the Cincinnati area and can come to in-person sessions in my Hyde Park office, that is something I encourage for at least the first few sessions. I find that the rapport, trust, and connection built during in-person sessions can be very impactful in therapeutic settings.

  • Paid parking is available throughout Hyde Park Square on both sides of Erie, using either the kiosk or the Cincy EZPark app. Free parking can be found on the surrounding streets if you are comfortable with walking a few blocks.

  • Honestly, there was a time in my life when I used to wonder the same thing. Before I became a therapist, I spent years in the business world under the assumption that you just put your head down and pushed through. What I've learned, both personally and professionally, is that the people who thrive long-term aren't the ones who white-knuckle everything alone. They're the ones who invest in understanding themselves. Strength isn't suffering in silence, it's having the self-awareness to recognize when outside perspective can help move you forward faster.

  • No, I do not prescribe or manage medication for patients. For those needs you’ll want to discuss with either your Primary Care Physician or a Psychiatrist.
